How to delete your account

Deleting your Viper account is a simple, irreversible (after the grace period), and complete process.
1. How to do it
From the mobile or web app, while signed in:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm your password (or re-auth via OAuth) to confirm your identity.
- Confirm the prompt. Your account enters a 30-day grace period.
2. By email (if you don't have access to the app)
If you lost access to your account, send an email from the address tied to the account to account-deletion@vipersquad.app with the subject DELETE MY ACCOUNT. We process within 7 business days at most.
3. What gets deleted
- Full profile: name, username, avatar, cover, bio.
- All your messages (archived ephemeral chats, channels).
- Voice messages.
- Presence history.
- Friend list and blocks.
- Active sessions on all devices.
- Push tokens.
4. What is preserved (legal)
By legal obligation we preserve for limited periods:
- Payment transaction logs (if you were a Pro user or made purchases): 5 years, per Argentine tax law.
- Abuse or TOS-violation reports: 1 year, anonymized, to prevent repeat offenses by re-registration.
These preserved data are anonymized as much as possible and do not include the content of your messages.
5. Grace period
During 30 days from your deletion request you can sign back in and cancel the process. If you don't within those 30 days, we perform a hard delete and we can't recover it.
6. Processing time
Hard delete after the grace period: up to 14 days for it to propagate to backups and caches. We comply with GDPR Article 17 — deletion without undue delay.
